ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nazareth's women's lacrosse team defeated Rochester 17-10 in a non-conference away game Wednesday evening. The win brings the Golden Flyers to a 2-2 overall record, while the Yellowjackets drop to 1-3 overall.

Amy McIntosh scored consecutive unassisted goals against the Yellowjackets. Rochester's Elizabeth Kilbridge retaliated 5:27 into the half with a goal against Nazareth. Despite the effort, Nazareth tallied the next two points with a goal from junior
Alyssa Johnston on a free position shot and a goal from freshman
Brianna Mancini with an assist from Cregan. Rochester's Lindsey Randall came back to score the Yellowjackets' second goal 9:27 into play. Two minutes later, Johnston attacked for her second of five goals during the game. Throughout the remainder of the half, Cregan and Johnston went on to score an additional two goals apiece, and sophomore
Kelsey McNaboe added one goal.
After five minutes of play, Rochester recorded the first goal of the second half. Nazareth answered by scoring the next five consecutive goals. The goals were score by Wood, Mancini, McIntosh, Johnston, and McNaboe, respectively. Rochester made an attempt to rally within the final ten minutes of the game by scoring three goals, but the Yellowjackets' efforts were thwarted by a final Nazareth goal scored by freshman
Brooke Sullivan with only 2:43 left on the clock. The game ended with a goal from Rochester's Bridget Hannon with a mere 37 seconds left in play.
Contributing to the win, Wood tallied three assists, while Cregan, junior
Leah Cronister, McIntosh, and McNaboe added one assist each. McNaboe was responsible for five of Nazareth's 15 draw controls, over the 14 draw controls won by Rochester.
Sophomore goalie
Tara Prosak was credited with 13 saves during the game, over Rochester's seven saves by Maddie Elia.
With tonight's goals, Johnston has accumulated a team-high 16 goals within four games, followed by McIntosh with nine goals this season. Nazareth will play a home game against Brockport Saturday.
