Amy McIntosh combined to score 12 of Nazareth's 13 goals Thursday, but the Golden Flyers mishandled an early lead and lost to Drew University, 19-13, in a non-conference women's lacrosse game.
The loss dropped the Golden Flyers to 1-2 overall, while Drew won for the third straight time after an 0-3 start.
Nazareth led 3-0 early on a goal by McIntosh and two by Johnston before Drew rallied to take a 10-8 lead at halftime. The Golden Flyers had the score tied three times in the second half -- at 10-10, 11-11 and 12-12 -- but Drew used an offensive flurry to score seven of the next eight goals to gain the victory.
Johnston scored six goals and added two assists for Nazareth, while Wood contributed three goals and three assists. McIntosh had three goals and two assists and freshman
Brooke Sullivan scored Nazareth's other goal. Sophomore
Tara Prosak played all 60 minutes in goal and made 11 saves for Nazareth.
Drew was led by six goals from Aileen Musynske.
The Golden Flyers are off this weekend, but return to action Wednesday for a road game at Rochester at 4 p.m.
