MACEDON, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's golf team posted an eighth-place finish over the weekend as the Golden Flyers competed at the ECAC Metro/Upstate Championships at Blue Heron Hills Country Club.
Nazareth posted stroke scores of 342 Saturday and 335 Sunday for a two-day total of 677 in the nine-team event. St. John Fisher, with five of the top seven individual finishers, captured the team title with a two-day score of 602. St. Lawrence (631) and Clarkson (631) finished tied for second. Potsdam (646), Oswego (660), Elmira (663), Hobart (668), Nazareth (677) and Utica (716) also competed.
Sophomore Andy Lund was Nazareth's top individual with rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162 total, good with 17th place. Freshman Dan Studin finished in a tie for 23rd place with scores of 88 and 80 for a 168 total. Junior
Nick Polito finished tied for 25th with 88 and 81 and sophomore
Dan Strack was tied for 37th with 86 and 92.
Fisher Thad Wier III finished first with rounds of 74 and 72 for a 146 total.
