CLINTON, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's track and field seasons resumed Saturday at the Hamilton Invitational. No team scoring was kept, but the Golden Flyers turned in several solid performances.
In the men's competition, freshman
Ira Griffin placed second in both the 60- and 200-meter dashes with times of 7.05 and 23.00 seconds respectively. Sophomore
Jake Lafaver was third in the 400-meter dash (:51.91) and was followed in the same race by junior
Phil Schierer in eighth place (:53.16), senior
Dan Polino in 11th place (:53.83) and sophomore Zach Lafaver in 12th place (:54.15).
Polino also jumped to 10th place in the long jump (5.88 meters or 19 feet, 3 1/2 inches) and senior
Tim Rutan placed 11th in the 800-meter run (2:07.12).
In the women's competition, freshman
Michaela Gildemeyer was second in the 800-meter run (2:33.36) and was followed by teammates
Katie Mutter (2:43.00) and
Candice Colosi in seventh and 11th place respectively. Junior
Katie Wyant was fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.85) and ninth in the 200-merter dash (:28.36).
Junior
Lauren Jamieson finished eighth in the 1m000-meter run (3:18.54) and junior
Kelsey Ryan was 11th in the mile (5:51.74).
