CHURCHVILLE, N.Y. -- Freshman Jennifer Lachell and sophomore Jamie Schmidt were Nazareth's top performers at the Empire 8 Women's Golf Championships at Mill Creek Golf Club.

Nazareth finished in fourth place in the team standings with a two-day team total of 848. Ithaca won the title with a score of 654. St. John Fisher (754) and Elmira (787) also competed and finished in fron tof Nazareth.

Lachell earned second-team all-conference honors after posting scores of 90 and 95 for a two-round total of 185. Schmidt was two strokes back with scores of 91 and 96 for a 187 total.

Alyssa Moffat (116-115 -- 231), Mindy Fowler (120-127 -- 247) and Corey Lambert (118-143 -- 261) also competed for the Golden Flyers.

St. John Fisher's Alex Battle defeated Ithaca's Sharon Li on hole 4 of a playoff to be named Golfer of
the Year. Li won Rookie of the Year
