NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- Despite improving its team score by nine strokes, Nazareth remained in seventh place Sunday following the second day of competition at the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for men's golf.
Nazareth posted a team score of 333 on day two at Yahnudasis Country Club and now has a two-round total of 675. The final two rounds of the tournament will be contested in the spring. St. John Fisher lengthened its lead in the team standings. The Cardinals' team score of 591 is 14 shots better than runner-up Elmira (605). Moravian (611) and Scranton (614) are next.
Senior
Tyler Woodward posted Nazareth's best score with a 76 for a two-round total of 154. He is tied for 13th place individually. Senior
Colin Doran was next in 35th place with a two-round score of 170.
Freshmen
Dan Strack (89-84 -- 173) and
Andrew Lund (89-89 -- 178) also competed along with sophomores
Nick Polito (96-90 -- 186) and
Greg Nelson (92-95 -- 187).
