ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sunday's championship game of the Nazareth College Field Hockey Tournament was canceled due to lightning in the area.

Nazareth and Denison played 15 minutes of their scheduled game on the Golden Flyers' artificial turf field when a lightning strike in the area delayed the game for 30 minutes. Nazareth had a 1-0 lead at the time on a goal by Sarah Wazenkewitz, but the game was not resumed and goes into the books as a no contest.

Oswego defeated Brockport 1-0 in the consolation game. Nazareth's next game is Saturday at home vs. Ithaca at 1 p.m.
