ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth extended its scoreless streak in women's soccer to 700 minutes Saturday, but the Golden Flyers were unable to score either as they battled to a 0-0 tie with Ithaca in Empire 8 Conference action at Golden Flyer Stadium.
It was the second year in a row that Ithaca and Nazareth played to a scoreless tie in women's soccer. Nazareth, unbeaten in its last nine games (7-0-2) is now 8-2-4 overall and 5-0-2 in conference play. Ithaca, ranked 18th nationally, is 9-2-3 overall and 5-1-1 in the Empire 8.
With Nazareth's conference schedule complete, the Golden Flyers will need a loss by Stevens in the Ducks' home game against Elmira Saturday to gain the top seed for next mont'h's conference tournament. Stevens defeated Hartwick, 2-0, Saturday and has a 5-0-1 conference record.
Ithaca outshot Nazareth 19-11 Saturday, but Nazareth's defense was equal to the challenge in keeping the Bombers off the scoreboard. It was Nazareth's seventh straight shutout and seventh of the season for sophomore keeper
Abbie Carey, who made a career-high 13 saves. The Golden Flyers have not yielded a goal since Sept. 24 at Stevens, a streak that has reached 700 minutes. Carey got help from defenders

Christine Belding each had three shots for Nazareth, while Ithaca's Rachel Palladino had seven shots. Five of Ithaca's shots came in overtime, including point-blank attempts by Palladino and Ellyn Grant-Keane that were saved by Carey.
The Golden Flyers have two home games left -- Wednesday against second-ranked William Smith at 4 p.m. and Saturday against Skidmore at 3 p.m.
