Nazareth defeats Buffalo State, 1-0

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth shut out Buffalo State 1-0 during Tuesday's non-conference men's soccer match. Sophomore Ryan Foley scored for Nazareth in the 52nd minute.

Nazareth won for the fourth time in its last five games to boost its overall record to 8-6. Buffalo State dropped to 6-7-2.

Foley's goal was his third of the season and came when he headed the ball into the goal off a cross from senior Liam Connolly.

Nazareth more than doubled the Bengals' shots in the game with a 19-8 advantage. Nazareth also had nine corner kicks to the Bengals' three. Senior Kyle Connolly played all 90 minutes in goal and made two saves in recording his third shutout of the season and seventh of his career. All three of his shutouts this season have come in the last five games.

The Golden Flyers will resume their Empire 8 Conference schedule Saturday against the Ithaca Bombers at 3 p.m. Nazareth is currently 3-2 in the conference.
