ASTON, Pa. -- Nazareth cruised to two more women's volleyball victories Sunday to complete a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Knights Homecoming Classic hosted by Neumann University. Nazareth downed Neumann in four sets (25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21) and then swept Wilkes in three sets (25-17, 25-17, 25-21).
The Golden Flyers ran their winning streak to seven straight matches and head into next weekend's second Empire 8 Crossover at St. John Fisher with a 19-9 overall record.
Against Neumann, senior
Leah Farrell has a career-high 15 kills to go with 22 digs as Nazareth pulled away for the four-set win. Senior
Ashlee Travis totaled 12 kills and a .500 hitting percentage, while junior
Aubrey Cooke had 11 kills, 29 assists and nine digs. Splitting time between setter and libero, junior
Brittany Crocetti had 27 assists, four service aces and 15 digs. Freshman
Maria Allocco added nine kills and sopjomore
Alli DeCory had 11 digs.
Nazareth then had little trouble with Wilkes as Travis had 12 kills in 16 swings, resulting in a .625 hitting percentage. Freshman
Olivia Harrigan added eight kills and 10 digs and Crocetti had 20 more digs. Cooke had 37 assists and was a perfect 6-for-6 in hitting.
Cooke, Farrell and Travis represented the Golden Flyers on the all-tournament team.
Nazareth plays three matches at this weekend's E8 Crossover -- Friday vs. Utica at 7:30 p.m., then Saturday vs. Hartwick and St. John Fisher at 3 and 5:30 p.m. respectively.
