ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's track and field teams were back in action Sunday, competing at the Empire 8 Conference Championships at RIT's Gordon Field House.
Nazareth's women's indoor team finished sixth with 23 points. Ithaca won the team title with 207 points, followed by RIT (103), Utica (51), Stevens (43) and Alfred (36). In the men's meet, Ithaca and RIT finished in a dead heat for the team title as each scored 159 points. Utica (81) was third, followed by Alfred (32), Stevens (26) and Nazareth (6).
In the women's meet, sophomore
Katie Wyant earned team points in three events, highlighted by a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash in :64.73 seconds. She also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash (:29.02) and ran on the 4 x 400-meter relay that finished fifth in 4:37.30. Senior

Kayleigh Olive and sophomore
Lauren Jamieson also ran in the relay.
Sophomore
Mindy Niebuhr finished third in the high jump as she cleared 1.58 meters (5 feet, 2 1/4 inches). Senior
Kristi Custer was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.63 meters (34 feet, 10 1/2 inches).
Nazareth also finished third in the distance medley (13:43.84) with Olive, Jamieson,
Michelle Gillette and
Kelsey Mash.
In the men's meet, freshman
Jake Lafaver finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.07 and junior
Dan Polino finished ninth in the 400-meter dash (:53.46) and the triple jump (41 feet, 5 inches).
In the distance medley Nazareth ran fifth (11:23.79) with the team of
Tim Rutan, Zach Lafaver,
Donato DiRenzo and
Matt Morales.
