ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Junior Katie Kollar recorded a game-high 18 points for host Nazareth, but Ithaca finished with three players in double-digits to outscore the Golden Flyers 58-45 in a women's Empire 8 basketball game Friday evening.

Following the loss, Nazareth drops to 4-5 in Empire 8 games and 8-10 overall. With the victory, the Bombers improve to 13-5 overall and remain undefeated in conference games with a 9-0 record. Ithaca has now won 27 consecutive Empire 8 contests and have defeated the Golden Flyers in 16 straight games.

Nazareth took an early 9-5 lead following a two-point jumper by Kollar, however, the Bombers answererd with a 18-6 scoring run to claim a 23-15 lead with just under seven minutes remaining in the first half.

The Golden Flyers responded with seven straight points in a span of 1:36 to trim their deficit to 23-22 with 3:16 to play in the half. The run started with a layup by junior Brittany Wilson, then was followed by a free throw by sophomore Jenee Vanderstyne, and a pair of baskets by senior Hillary Simon. The Bombers closed the final minutes of the half with a 7-2 run for a 30-24 advantage at the break.

Ithaca continued its run into the second half and claimed its first double-digit lead following two free throws by Kathryn Campbell. Consecutive baskets by junior Brittany TallChief and Vanderstyne cut the Bombers' lead to seven points with 11:23 remaining in regulation, but Ithaca tallied the next eight points to surge to a 47-32 advantage. Elissa Klie and Jennifer Escobido each had four points for the Bombers during the scoring run. The Golden Flyers continued to battle throughout the remainder of the game, but could only come within 10 points, 49-39, following a three-point basket by Kollar.

In addition to Nazareth's points from Kollar, who finished 7-10 from the field, Vanderstyne finished with seven points, and Wilson and TallChief recorded six points apiece. Ithaca's stingy defense held Wilson, the Golden Flyers' leading scorer with 17.4 points per game, to just 2-16 from the field.

Klie and Jordan Confessore each recorded 13 points for the Bombers. Devin Shea added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

The Golden Flyers resume their Empire 8 schedule with a 6 p.m. game Tuesday evening at RIT.
