CLINTON, N.Y. -- Nazareth's indoor track and field seasons continued Saturday as the Golden Flyers competed at the Hamilton Invitational.
Top performers in the men's meet included freshman
Jake Lafaver, who finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of :52.49. Junior
Dan Polino finished sixth in the same event in :53.21. Polino also was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.52 meters (41 feet, 1 inch).
Senior
Matt Morales was fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:24 and Nazareth finished third in the 4 x 400-mete relay wqwith the team of
Jake Lafaver, Zach Lafaver,
Donato DiRenzo and Polino. Time was 3:42.90.
In the women's meet, sophomore
Mindy Niebuhr won the high jump by clearing 1.58 meters (5 feet, 2 1/4 inches). Freshman
Bethany Althaus was second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 21:12. She was followed in the same race by junior
Michelle Gillette, who ran third in 21:34.
Sophomore
Lauren Jamieson was third in the mile with a time of 5:37.16 and senior
Kristi Custer was third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.38 meters (34 feet, 3/4 inches).
Sophomore
Katie Wyant had two fourth-place finishes -- in the 200-meter dash (:28.83) and in the 800-meter run (2:35.11). Nazareth also finished second in the 4 x 400-meter relay with the foursome of
Kirsten Schoenborn,
Alyssa Lindstrom,
Kayla Murphy and
Kelsey Mash.
