ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth got its 2011 men's volleyball season started in successful fashion Wednesday as the Golden Flyers downed Elmira in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-15.
The Golden Flyers, ranked fourth nationally in the latest Division III poll conducted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, got 11 kills and four service aces from senior
Brian Bunch and eight kills, seven digs and three aces from junior
Billy Gimello. Elmira, in its first season of intercollegiate play, was playing its first-ever home match at the Speidel Gymnasium. The Soaring Eagles are 1-3 so far.

Rob Kraft contributed four kills and five blocks and sophomore setter
EJ Wells-Spicer amassed 26 assists.
Nazareth travels to Greenville, Pa. this weekend to compete in the
Thiel AVI Invitational. Nazareth plays Thiel Saturday at 9 p.m. then 10th-ranked Carthage at 1 p.m., followed by second-ranked Juniata Sunday at 3.
