UR trips up Nazareth, 2-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Junior Anna Dobrzynski scored her fourth and fifth goals of the season for visiting Rochester Wednesday to lift the Yellowjackets to a 2-1 victory over Nazareth in field hockey.

Rochester improved to 2-1 overall with its non-conference victory, while Nazareth dropped to 0-2.

Dobrzynski's second goal of the game came with just over 16 minutes left and broke a 1-1 tie. Anisha Gundewar initiated the play off a penalty corner. Dobrzynski settled the ball and balsted a low shot past Nazareth goalie Kelsey Evans.

Dobryznski scored unassisted for UR late in the first half. The Golden Flyers tied the score on an unassisted goal by sophomore Lindsey Smith.

Nazareth had a slim 11-10 edge in shots, with Rochester holding an 8-4 advantage in penalty corners. Evans and her UR counterpart, Madison Wagner, each made six saves.

Nazareth returns to action Saturday with a non-conference game at Brockport at 1 p.m.
