HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Nazareth opened its men's and women's cross country seasons Saturday at the Harry Lang Invitational at Colgate University. The women's team finished in second place with 58 team points, trailing only Colgate's 19 points. The men's team placed fifth with 101 team points.
Sophomore
Kelsey Ryan paced the women's team with a fourth-place finish over the 4.2-kilometer course with a time of 17:47. She was followed by
Kelsey Mash (13) in 18:25;
Bethany Althaus (21) in 18:59;
Kathryn Piechowiak (26) in 19:07;
Lauren Heitzhaus (27) in 19:08.
In the men's race, junior
Peter Fekete finished in 22nd place with a time of 22:25 for 6.4 kilometers. He was followed by
Matt Morales (28) in 22:55;
Matt Fedrizzi (38) in 23:20;
Tim Rutan (41) in 23:28; and
Jake Lafaver (59) in 25:17.
