PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth dominated Empire 8 Conference rival St. John Fisher in a women's soccer match Wednesday as the Golden Flyers scored a 3-0 triumph over the Cardinals.
Nazareth improved to 3-0 in conference action and 5-4 overall. St. John Fisher is 0-3 in the Empire 8 and 1-7-1 overall. The victory was Nazareth's 19th straight over Fisher, a streak that started in 1994.
Nazareth got goals from senior
Erica Conte, junior
Kelly Kuhn and sophomore
Sarah Eichelberger. Senior
Hillary Simon made seven saves for her second shutout of the season and 17th of her career.
Conte's goal was her second of the season and came in the 16th minute off an assist from sophomore
Amanda Sudore.
The score went unchanged until the 61st minute when Kuhn scored her third goal of the season directly off a corner kick as she curled the ball off her right foot into the upper corner of the goal.
Eichelberger added Nazareth's third goal (and her third of the season) in the 84th minute with freshman
Anne Czelusniak gaining the assist.
Nazareth had advantages in shots (19-10) and corner kicks (7-3).
The Golden Flyers are home Saturday for a non-confference game against St. Lawrence at 3 p.m.
