ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth won three straight volleyball matches before falling to Ithaca Sunday in the final match of the Empire 8 Conference Crossover meet at RIT.
Nazareth knocked off St. John Fisher in four sets by scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-14. Later on, Nazareth lost in four sets to Ithaca, 30-28, 21-25, 25-21, 25-13.
Against Fisher, graduate student
Carra Vanderstyne had 15 kills with five aces, 11 digs and two blocks to pace the Golden Flyers. Sophomore
Amy Johnson added 12 kills and sophomore setter
Brittany Crocetti contributed 37 assists.
In the Ithaca match, Vanderstyne had 10 kills and 10 digs and Custer added 13 kills. Crocetti amassed 39 assists.
Nazareth plays again Wednesday in a non-conference match at Fredonia at 7 p.m.
