ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth won its first two matches Saturday at RIT during the first day of the Empire 8 Conference Crossover for women's volleyball.
The Golden Flyers improved to 7-9 overall and 2-0 in conference matches with straight-set wins over Alfred (25-8, 25-19, 25-16) and Hartwick (25-20, 26-24, 29-27).
Sophomore
Amy Johnson had 10 kills in 12 attempts against Alfred for a hitting percentage of .833. Graduate student Carra Vanderstyne
had eight kills and sophomore Brittany Crocetti# had 28 assists.
In the Hartwick match, Vanderstyne had 10 kills and senior
Kristi Custer had nine. Crocetti had 31 assists.
Nazareth plays two more matches Sunday -- vs. St. John Fisher at 10 a.m. and Ithaca at 3 p.m.
