ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth dropped a pair of women's volleyball matches Saturday at the RIT Invitational, including a three-set setback to New York University in the tournament title match.
The Golden Flyers finished the weekend at 2-2 and now stand at 5-8 overall. The Golden Flyers lost a four-setter to Potsdam (16-25, 25-21, 26-24, 27-25), but still won their pool thanks to a pair of victories on Friday. That placed the Golden Flyers in the title match against the 23rd-ranked Violets and Nazareth lost 25-21, 25-23, 25-20.
Sophomore
Amy Johnson represented the Golden Flyers on the all-tournament team after producing nine kills, four aces and a solo block in the NYU match. Senior
Kristi Custer contributed nine kills and eight digs, sophomore
Brittany Crocetti had 25 assists and sophomore
Christina Pelletier had 14 digs.
Custer eld the way against Potsdam with 12 kills and five aces. Junior
Ashlee Travis had 10 kills with just one error in 17 swings and Crocetti amassed 33 assists.
Nazareth plays again Tuesday at the University of Rochester at 7 p.m.
