Hamilton edges Nazareth, 2-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y.  -- Visiting Hamilton outlasted Nazareth for a 2-1 win in today's non-conference soccer game.

Nazareth was able to match Hamilton's efforts in the first half. Junior midfielder Frank Campagnano scored the first goal for Hamilton 33 minutes and 29 seconds into the game. A mere 58 seconds later, senior midfielder Rikesh Kotak scored for the Golden Flyers. Kotak scored off a kick from sophomore midfielder Shane Mead. This was Kotak's second goal of the season. Throughout the half, Hamilton out-shot Nazareth 13-9.

Despite numerous yellow cards, the second half was relatively quiet until Campagnano scored another goal for the Continentals with 15:52 left on the clock. The goal was scored off one of Hamilton's four corner kicks during the half. Nazareth also accumulated four corner kicks. The Golden Flyers tallied eight shots to Hamilton's six at the end of the half.

Nazareth's junior goalkeeper Kyle Connolly totalled six saves, and Hamilton's sophomore keeper Eric Boole totalled nine saves.

The Golden Flyers' next game will be played on September 21st at 7 p.m. at the University of Rochester.
