ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Kelsey Ryan was Nazareth's top finisher Friday as the Golden Flyers competed at the Airfield Invitational for women's cross country. The meet served as a preview of the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region championship, which will be held at Fortin Park on Saturday, Nov. 13 beginning at 11 a.m.
Nazareth finished 15th in the women's race with 439 points. Ryan was Nazareth's top finisher in 59th place (23:58) over 6 kilometers. Sophomore
Kelsey Mash finished 76th (24:20), followed by freshman
Bethany Althaus in 86th place (24:35) and sophomore
Lauren Jamieson in 108th place (25:30).
Senior
Matt Morales was Nazareth's top finisher in the men's race. Morales finished in 69th place on the 8-kilometer layout as Nazareth finished with 511 team points. St. Lawrence was the overall team champion with five finishers in the top 15 as they scored 42 points, 18 points ahead of Geneseo.
Other runners for the Golden Flyers included junior
Peter Fekete, who finished 88th in 27:35; junior
Tim Rutan, who placed 113th in 28:44; and sophomore
Josh Strough, who finished 119th in 29:33.
