CANTON, N.Y. -- Senior Michelle Van Slyke had rounds of 83 and 84 over the weekend as Nazareth opened its women's golf season at the St. Lawrence Invitational.

Van Slyke finished in 14th place individually with a two-day score of 167 on the St. Lawrence University's par-72 golf course. Nazareth had a team score of 852 to finish behind St. Lawrence (633), New York University (643), Middlenbury (658), Cortland (694), Ithaca (735), St. John Fisher (749), William Smith (780) and Elmira (797).

Sophomore Jenee Vanderstyne finished in 31st place with a two-day total of 195 and freshman Jamie Schmidt was tied for 33rd place with a total of 202.
