WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- Host Stevens swept all three doubles matches Saturday and went on to defeat Nazareth, 5-0, in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for men's tennis.

The Golden Flyers, seeded third, finish their season with an overall record of 8-12. Stevens (17-3 overall), advances to Sunday's conference championship match against Ithaca. The winner gains an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

To pull off an upset, Nazareth needed to capture at least one doubles match. Stevens, though, dominated all three matches. The Ducks' top team of Shota Tasaki and Arik Zeevy downed Nazareth's first doubles team of Ryan McCormick and Josh Mulligan 8-1.

Stevens' Chris Rosensteel helped the Ducks earn two points as he defeated Nazareth's Adam Landry at second singles 6-1, 6-0 and teamed with Piotr Rusinkiewicz to win 8-4 at second doubles over Nazareth's team of Landry and Jeremy Mancus. At third doubles, Stevens got a point from Gregory Klose and Jason Ringstad, who won 8-4 over Nazareth's tandem of Bret Beaver and Steve Trobert.

Trobert also lost his final singles match, falling to Zeevy at third singles 6-0, 6-2.
