UTICA, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth made short work of Utica Wednesday in an Empire 8 Conference men's tennis match as the Golden Flyers evened their overall record at 7-7 with a 9-0 win over the Pioneers.

Nazareth improved to 5-1 in conference matches while Utica dropped to 0-6.

Freshmen Ryan McCormick, Josh Mulligan and Jeremy Mancus each won matches at singles and doubles as did junior Adam Landry. The closest match was at sixth singles, where senior Alex Bodensieck went three sets with Utica's Gonzalo Salama before winning 7-5, 1-6, 6-1.

At third doubles, seniors Ben Caiella and Dan Matteo combined for an 8-1 victory. Senior Steve Trobert also was a straight set winner at third singles.

Nazareth has two conference matches left. The Golden Flyers visit St. John Fisher Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and host Stevens Saturday at 11 a.m.
