Nazareth sweeps Hilbert in 3

HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Sophomore Billy Gimello had 13 kills and junior Hans Schroeder had 12 Tuesday as visiting Nazareth downed Hilbert in men's volleyball. Nazareth won in three sets by scores of 30-19, 30-9, 30-23.

Nazareth improved its overall record to 11-10 as Gimello recorded a .476 hitting percentage and Schroeder hit .409. As a team, Nazareth had 55 kills against just 12 hitting errors for a .443 hitting percentage.

Freshman setter EJ Wells-Spcier had 30 assists and four service aces and fellow freshman Connor Ecklund had 18 assists and five digs.

Freshman Robert Kraft and junior Chris Mendez each posted strong hitting percentages. Kraft had seven kills in nine attempts for a .778 percentage and Mendez had seven kills in 11 attempts for a .35 success rate.

Nazareth is home Friday for its final home match against New Jersey Institute of Technology at 7 p.m.
