UTICA, N.Y. -- Junior Hans Schroeder recorded a team-high 14 kills with just four hitting errors and freshman setter EJ Wells-Spicer delivered 36 assists Tuesday as visiting Nazareth defeated SUNYIT in men's volleyball for the second time this season. Scores were 30-28, 30-20, 30-23.

Nazareth, ranked 15th nationally in Division III by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, improved to 9-8 overall and 3-3 against NECVA Western Division opponents. SUNYIT is 4-15 overall and 2-6 in divisional matches.

Schroeder had a hitting percentage of .417 and had a hand in 11 of Nazareth's 18 blocks. Junior Will Siwy posted a .583 hitting percentage with seven kills in 12 attempts and added eight blocks. Juniors Ellis Walsh and Chris Mendez also had seven kills each. Sophomore Sam Guba had nine digs.

Jeffrey Coon had 15 kills for the Wildcats. Ryan Meller had 14.

Nazareth plays again Wednesday at home against Hilbert at 7 p.m.
