MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Nazareth's men's volleyball team returned to action Friday at the Wisconsin Invitational and the Golden Flyers were beaten by Cardinal Stritch, an NAIA-affiliated school based in Milwaukee. The Golden Flyers lost in three sets 30-19, 30-20, 30-19. Nazareth then rebounded four a four-set triumph over Milwaukee School of Engineering, winning by scores of 30-28, 25-30, 30-26, 32-30.
Nazareth (13-11 overall) plays two more matches Saturday at Carthage in Kenosha, Wis. The Golden Flyers play New York University at 11 a.m. and Carthage at 4 p.m.
Against MSOE, junior
Hans Schroeder pounded out 20 kills for a .302 hitting percentage with five blocks and freshman setter
EJ Wells-Spicer amassed 52 assists with three service aces. Junior
Chris Mendez combined 12 kills with 10 digs and junior #Ellis Walsh also had 12 kills.
In the fourth game, Wells-Spicer had a service aces for Nazareth's 30th point. Then after MSOE tied the score at 30, a service error by MSOE and service ace by Schroeder closed out the match.
Against Cardinal Stritch, junior Schroeder paced Nazareth with 11 kills and Wells-Spicer had 25 assists as Cardinal Stritch improved to 18-6.
