Buzard earns E8 honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Lindsey Buzard, senior on the Nazareth women's swimming and diving team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Athlete of the Week for the period that ended Feb. 7.

Buzard, of Perry, N.Y. and a graduate of Perry High School, competed as a diver for the Golden Flyers Saturday as Nazareth defeated RIT to complete its dual-meet schedule with a 9-0 record. Buzard won both diving events and set school and RIT pool records with a six-dive score of 277.90 in the 3-meter competition. Her score provisionally qualified her for next month's NCAA Championship meet in Minnesota.
She took the 1-meter event with a score of 218.90.

Nazareth competes against Feb. 18-20 at the conference championship meet at Nottingham High School.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth senior #Lindsey Buzard# was selected as Diver of the Meet at the 2009 Empire 8 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship held in conjunction with the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association meet. In addition, freshman #Carissa Risucci# was named Rookie of the Meet after sweeping state and conference championships in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.
