Nazareth falls to RIT in finale

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior #R.C. Weston# won the 200 backstroke in 2:05.63 and was Nazareth's only individual winner Saturday in men's swimming and diving as the Golden Flyers closed out their regular season with a 180-98 loss at RIT. Nazareth won the women's meet, 158-139 to finish 9-0.

Weston was followed to the finish line in the 200 backstroke by teammate Jacob Kline, who was clocked in 2:07.57.

Junior Paul Thompson placed second in the 1,000 freestyle (10:53.03). Kline was second in the 200 butterfly (2:07.44) and senior Rob Wortel placed second in the 100 freestyle (:50.19).

In the women's meet, senior Lindsey Buzard won both diving events as the Golden Flyers finished the season unbeaten in dual meets at 9-0.

Buzard set a school and RIT pool record in 3-meter diving and provisionally qualified for next month's NCAA Division III Championship meet with a score of 277.90. She also finished first on the 1-meter board with a score of 218.90.

Freshman Carissa Risucci and senior Lauren McKinney each won two individual events and swam on the winning 200 medley relay. Risucci won both breaststroke events -- going 1:09.10 in the 100 and 2:30.06 in the 200. McKinney was first in the 200 butterfly (2:15.97) and the 500 freestyle (5:28.71).

Risucci and McKinney were joined by Rachael Phipps and Holly Gilligan in winning the 200 medley relay. They posted a winning time of 1:55.73. Phipps also won the 50 freestyle for the Golden Flyers with a time of :25.75.
