POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Nazareth posted a pair of dominating men's volleyball victories Friday at the Vassar Invitational as the 15th-ranked Golden Flyers inched past the .500 mark for the first time this season.
The Golden Flyers improved to 7-6 overall as they cruised to three-set victories of Elms (30-9, 30-19, 30-12) and Johnson &Wales (30-22, 30-18, 30-17).
Against Elms, four different players posted six kills each and the Golden Flyers limited Elms to just four kills in the three-set match. Nazareth had 41 kills overall and a .437 hitting percentage. Sophomore

Ellis Walsh each had six kills in eight attempts for a .750 hitting percentage. Senior

EJ Wells-Spicer had 15 assists and seven digs.
Against Johnson & Wales, Gimello dominated as an outside hitter with a match-high 17 kills against just three hitting errors in 22 attempts for a .636 percentage. Junior

Robert Kraft had eight kills in 11 attempts for a .545 percentage. Spicer had 32 assists.
Nazareth plays two more matches Saturday -- 12 p.m. against Philadelphia Biblical and 2 p.m. against Vassar.
