SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Senior
Lindsey Buzard posted a personal best score of 383.90 Thursday to win the 1-meter diving competition at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association championship meet at Nottingham High School.
Buzard's score was more than 25 points better than her preliminary score and earned 32 team points for the Golden Flyers, who stood in third place in the team standings with a first-day score of 299. Ithaca is first with 448, followed by Stevens with 411. Swimming resumes Friday at 10:30 a.m.
In other action, senior
Lauren McKinney shaved nearly three seconds off her preliminary time in the 200 IM and finished in third place. McKinney swam a time of 2:07.70 to finish behind only Caitlyn Burr of RIT (2:05.53) and Marissa Douglas of Stevens (2:06.59). McKinney also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship meet next month in Minnesota. Freshman
Carissa Risucci finished sixth in the same race with a time of 2:11.49.
Nazareth's 400 medley relay team slipped to fourth place after setting a school record in the preliminary round. The Golden Flyers' team of McKinney, Risucci,

McKenna Murphy had a time of 3:57.15 in the finals after recording a prelim time of 3:56.89.
Sophomore
Rachael Phipps finished seventh in the 50 freestyle with a finals time of :24.83. Conklin was 16th in the same event with a time of :25.63.
In the 500 freestyle, senior
Courtney Pilc moved up to 12th place with a personal-best time of 5:21.49. Murphy finished 16th in 5:23.55.
Phipps, Murphy and Conklin also competed, along with sophomore
Holly Gilligan, in the 200 free relay that placed fifth with a time of 1:40.17.
