ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior diver Lindsey Buzard and freshman breaststroker Carissa Risucci are top seeds for Nazareth heading into next week's Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association championship in Syracuse.

Buzard is seeded first in 3-meter diving after posting the season's top score, a school-record 277.90, last week at RIT. She also will compete in 1-meter diving and is seeded seventh in that event with a score of 221.02.

Risucci is first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a top time of 2:22.97. She also will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke and is seeded third with a time of 1:07.74.

Senior Lauren McKinney is among the top seeds in three events. She is second in the 100-yard butterfly (:58.49); third in the 200 IM (2:12.35); and third in the 200 butterfly (2:09.24). Sophomore Rachael Phipps is fourth in the 100 freestyle (:54.19) and ninth in the 50 freestyle (:25.31). Freshman McKenna Murphy is fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:57.95) and 10th in the 500 freestyle (5:25.20).

Nazareth also is highly ranked in all five relays -- fifth in the 200 free relay (1:41.74); fourth in the 400 medley relay (4:06.82); fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:52.01); second in the 800 free relay (8:03.30); and second in the 400 free relay (3:40.50).

The UNYSCSA Championship will be contested in conjunction with the Empire 8 Conference Championship meet Feb. 18-20 at Nottingham High School.
