ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Carissa Risucci, a freshman on the Nazareth women's swimming and diving team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Athlete of the Week for the seven-day period that ended Jan. 31.

A native of Deerfield, N.Y. and a graduate of Whitesboro High School, Risucci led Nazareth to two more dual meet victories last week as she won three events in a home meet against St. Lawrence and Utica. Risucci won the 100- and 2200-meter breaststrokes as well as the 200-meter IM as Nazareth improved to 8-0. In the 200 breaststroke, Risucci broke her own school and pool records with a winning time of 2:43.86.

Nazareth closes out its regular-season schedule Saturday with a dual meet at RIT at 1 p.m.
