ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth split a pair of women's volleyball matches Friday during the first day of the Purple and Gold Invitational contested at the Kidera Gymnasium.
The Golden Flyers outlasted Medaille in a five-set match 32-30, 12-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-12 and then lost to Thiel in four sets 18-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.
Nazareth, 9-12 overall, plays again Saturday at 10 a.m. against Capital Unviersity of Ohio.

Ashlee Travis paced the Golden Flyers against Medaille with 10 kills in 24 attempts for a .333 percentage. Senior
Megan Rogers added 17 digs and sophomore setter Brittany Crocetti# had 26 assists. Janine Benkelman had 17 kills for the Mavericks and Meghan Fahy added 11. Gina Traniello had 28 assists.
Against Thiel,
Kristi Custer and
Carra Vanderstyne each had 10 kills and Crocetti passed for 30 assists.
Christina Pelletier had 20 digs.
