Nazareth downs Keuka, 58-40

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth snapped a six-game losing streak Saturday by defeating Keuka, 58-40, in the seventh-place game of the Wendy's College Classic. Nazareth evened its record at 8-8 while the Storm fell to 4-5.

The Golden Flyers never trailed in the game.  Rachel Pirozzolo led Nazareth with 10 points in the first half.  She hit a three-pointer with just over one minute remaining in the first half to give the Flyers a six-point lead.  Kelly Dunne had a three-point play after being fouled on a layup to give Nazareth its biggest lead of the half, 32-23. 

The Golden Flyers continued to extend their lead to 15 by scoring the first six points of the second half before Keuka's Brittany Schrock stopped the scoring drive with a three-point field goal.  Schrock led the Storm with 12 points. 

Nazareth saw its biggest lead with 7:38 left when Brittany Tallchief scored two of her eight points to put the Flyers ahead by 19, 55-36.  Tallchief was 2-of-3 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line. 

Keuka came back to within 11 points, 44-33, with 13 minutes remaining.  But after going 0-for-3 from behind the arc in the first half, Dunne hit three straight three pointers to put Nazareth back ahead by 18, 53-35. She finished with a team-high 14 points.

Ashley Gallagher had five blocks for Nazareth and also led the Flyers with nine rebounds.  The Golden Flyers out-rebounded Keuka 46-27.

Nazareth is home on January 22 in an Empire 8 match-up against Elmira College at 6 p.m.

ROCHESTER, NY -- #Kelly Dunne# scored all of her game-high 16 points in the second half Tuesday to lead visiting Nazareth to an Empire 8 Conference win over RIT in women's basketball.  Dunne's three pointer with 11:28 left in the game put the Golden Flyers ahead for good, 42-40, as they went on to win 56-45.
