BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Freshman Kailee O'Hara scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist Tuesday as visiting Nazareth gained a non-conference victory over Brockport in field hockey, 3-1.
The win was the third in a row for the Golden Flyers and the second this season over Brockport and upped their overall record to 6-3. Brockport dropped to 2-7.
With the score tied 1-1 and the first-half clock winding down, O'Hara scored her fourth goal of the season off an assist from sophomore
Sara Heron with just :19 before halftime. Freshman
Lindsey Smith then delivered her second career goal early in the second half to give the Golden Flyers the two-goal margin.
Nazareth opened the scoring in the 11th minute as junior
Caitlyn Angelidis scored her first career goal with O'Hara assisting. Brockport tied the score less than six minutes later on a goal by Jackie Massoni.
Nazareth had advantages in shots (18-4) and penalty corners (13-9) and junior goalie
Kelsey Evans had two saves.
Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule Sunday with a key game at Utica at 1 p.m.
