ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth scored four unanswered goals in the second half to snap a scoreless tie Saturday as the Golden Flyers defeated Oswego in a non-conference men's soccer match, 4-0, at Golden Flyer Stadium.
The victory evened Nazareth's overall record at 2-2, while the Lakers dropped to 0-4.
After an evenly played first half, Nazareth cashed in in the second. Sophomore
Andrew Alaimo broke the tie by scoring his third goal of the season off an assist from Raymond Toouchstone at 55:50. Exactly six minutes later, sophomore
Chris Eccles was credited with an unassisted goal after his free kick from about 40 yards away skipped off a defender's head before settling into the net.
Nazareth's third goal came in the 63rd minute on a penalty kick after an Oswego foul in the penalty area. The Golden Flyers scored again with less than four minutes to play as junior
Rob Faulds netted his first career goal on a blast from the middle after he settled a through pass from sophomore
Sean Dorman.
Oswego had a 13-12 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Nazareth keeper
Trey Barresi had five saves to gain his first shutout of the season and seventh of his career.
Nazareth plays its next two games on the road -- Tuesday at Fredonia at 7 p.m. and Saturday at Hamilton at 1 p.m.
