ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Scott Castle, a sophomore midfielder on the Nazareth men's lacrosse team, has been recognized as an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The teams will officially be announced at an awards reception Saturday evening in Boston.
Castle, of Skaneateles, N.Y. and a graduate of Skaneateles High School, appeared regularly on the first midfield line in all of Nazareth's 18 games in 2009. He contributed 33 points on 20 goals and 13 assists. Among his goals was a game-winner in overtime in Nazareth's season-opening 9-8 victory at Springfield. Castle also was recognized earlier this spring as a first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star.
Castle helped Nazareth to an 11-7 overall record in 2009, which included the E8 Conference title and Nazareth's 18th overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
