CANTON, N.Y. -- Senior
Lauren Glaser finished second in the 800-meter run Saturday with an ECAC-qualifying time of 2:18.39 to lead Nazareth's women's track and field team at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championship meet at St. Lawrence University.
Nazareth finished seventh in the team standings with 45 points. Ithaca was first with 274.50. Glaser also placed fourth in the 400-meter dash in :60.08.
Other Nazareth notables were graduate student
Jessica Brown, who placed seventh in the 1,500-meter run (4:58.23); senior
Melissa Cutcliffe, who finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with an ECAC-qualifying time of :12.72; sophomore
Kristi Custer, who placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.68 meters (35' 1/2"); and junior
Shannon Bradley, who placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:35.69).
In the men's meet, junior
Matt Case and senior
Robby Castor each won events as the Golden Flyers finished ninth in the team standings with 32 points. Ithaca was first with 201 points.
Case won the 400-meter dash with an ECAC-qualifying time of :50.15 seconds. He also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash in :22.59. Castor won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.99. He also finished second in the 1,500-meter run with an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:01.59.
Other highlights for Nazareth included a ninth-place for freshman Ryan Ingram in the 400-meter dash (:52.66) and a 10th place for sophomore
Matt Morales in the 5,000-meter run (15:51.36).
