Glaser finishes sixth at ECAC meet

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Senior Lauren Glaser delivered three team points to Nazareth's cause Friday as Nazareth's track and field teams competed at the ECAC meet at Springfield College.

Glaser posted her fastest time of the season in the 800-meter run as she finished in sixth place in 2:16.65. Glaser set the school record in the 800 last year with a time of 2:14.99.

Other competitors for Nazareth were senior Melissa Cutcliffe in the 100-meter dash and the long jump and sophomore Kristi Custer in the triple jump. Cutcliffe posted a time of :13.55 seconds in the 100-meter prelims on Thursday and failed to qualify for Friday's final. She also finished 18th in the long jump with a leap of 4.79 meters, the equivalent of 15 feet, 8 3/4 inches.

Custer finished 15th in the triple jump with distance of 10.77 meters, which translates to 35 feet, 4 inches.

In the men's meet, senior Robby Castor and junior Matt Case competed for the Golden Flyers. Castor finished 15th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:10.10 and Case placed 14th in the 400-meter dash with a time of :49.96.
