ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Senior
Matt Dalton continued his solid play Sunday during the second day of the spring portion of the Empire 8 Conference men's golf championships at Mark Twain Country Club. Dalton followed up his first-day score of 76 with an 81 Sunday to finish in a tie for second place individually to pace the Golden Flyers.
Dalton's two-day total score of 157 helped Nazareth to a third-place finish in the tournament with a team score of 672. St. John Fisher had the best score with 652, four shots better than Elmira (656). Nazareth (672), Stevens (711) and Utica (768) also competed.
Senior
Josh Maxwell had rounds of 83 and 85 to finish in a tie for seventh place individually. Other Nazareth competitors were
Ben Herrmann (91-83 -- 174); Frank McGuigan (91-88 -- 179); R.C. Weston (93-94 -- 187); and
Mark Chambers (96-96 -- 192).
Dalton earned first-team all-conference honors and Maxwell made second team.
