ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's volleyball team, winners of 11 straight and 17 of the last 18 matches, gained the No. 2 seed for this weekend's North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Tournament at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.

The Golden Flyers, 25-4 overall and ranked fifth nationally in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, will play 15th-seeded Emmanuel (18-12) in a first-round match Friday at 2 p.m. If successful there, Nazareth would advance to Saturday's quarterfinals at 11 a.m. to play the winner of the Newbury-Philadelphia Biblical match.

Semifinal matches for the single-elimination event are Saturday at 4 p.m. and the championship match is Sunday at 1 p.m. Rivier College, 31-1 and winner of 28 straight, is the top seed.

The winner of the NECVA Tournament gains an automatic berth to the Molten Division III Men's Invitational Championship April 17-18 at Ramapo.
