ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Golden Flyers' women's volleyball team will compete against third-seeded Ithaca in their first match of this weekend's Empire 8 Conference Tournament at Stevens. With their 25-12 overall record and 7-1 mark in the E8, Nazareth trumps Ithaca's record of 22-16 overall and 6-2 E8. The semifinal match will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Hoboken, N.J.

Also on Saturday, top-seeded Stevens (24-9 overall, 8-0 E8) will meet fourth-seeded St. John Fisher (19-17 overall, 5-3 E8) in a 12 p.m. semifinal round. The winners of each semifinal round will face off in the championship at 7 p.m.

Led by head coach Cal Wickens, the Golden Flyers are shooting for their ninth NCAA appearance. Nazareth's key players this season include senior Katelynn Reed who has tallied 215 kills and 51 aces, junior Kristi Custer with a team-high 274 kills and 48 aces, senior Kate Zwickl with 937 assists and 36 aces, freshman Aubrey Cooke with 146 kills and 48 aces and senior Mallorie Clary with a season total of 616 digs and 45 aces.
