ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Elizabeth Way and junior Kelly Noble each won in their singles matches for Nazareth Saturday in an Empire 8 Conference match against RIT. The Tigers, however, won the other four singles matches, and defeated the Golden Flyers 6-3.

With the loss, Nazareth falls to 4-2 in conference matches and to 4-4 overall. RIT improves to 4-1 in Empire 8 matches and to 5-3 overall.

Way took her match at third singles by the score of 6-1, 6-2, while the final score in Noble's fifth singles match was 6-3, 6-1. In addition to the victories by Way and Noble, the Golden Flyers received a victory in freshman Alexandra Vizgaitis and Noble's double match by the score of 8-2.

Freshman Christine Cary evened her match against Julie Burkett at sixth singles by winning the second set 6-1, but Cary dropped the third and deciding set by the score of 6-4.

The Golden Flyers' next match is at Ithaca, October 10th.
