CLINTON, N.Y. -- Sophomore Catie Torcivia scored two goals to lead host Hamilton to a 2-0 win against Nazareth in a non-league field hockey game played at Campus Road Athletic Field Thursday.

Hamilton (10-3 overall) tied a program record for wins in one season. The Continentals also won 10 games in 1990 and 1991. Hamilton extended its win streak to four contests while the Golden Flyers (6-9) dropped their sixth game in a row. The all-time series is tied 5-5.

Torcivia gave the Continentals a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal with 8:10 left in the first half. A shot by a Hamilton player was stopped by Nazareth goalie Kelsey Evans, but the ball bounced to Torcivia, who knocked it into the back of the cage.

Torcivia notched her fourth goal of the year with 17:22 remaining in the second half. The ball was played into the circle where it was deflected by Holly Rodiger right to Torcivia, who one-timed a shot past Evans. The assist was Rodiger's second this year.

Evans was strong in goal for the Golden Flyers as she made 12 saves, including several in the early going to keep the Continentals off the scoreboard. Erin Law made two defensive saves
Courtney DeMaria stopped three shots to post her fourth shutout this season and the ninth of her career.

Hamilton dominated the game for the most part with a 31-6 shot advantage. The Continentals were awarded 15 penalty corners to Nazareth's one. The Golden Flyers end their regular season with an Empire 8 conference game against Hartwick College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
