ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior
Shannon Bradley was Nazareth's top finisher Saturday as the Golden Flyers competed at the NYSCTC women's cross country championships at Genesee Valley Park.
Nazareth finished sixth in the 10-team event with 186 points. St. Lawrence won the event with 23 points. Rensselaer was next with 67 and Rochester was third with 79.
In the men's race, junior
Matt Morales placed 17th individually to lead Nazareth to seventh place in the team standings. St. Lawrence won the race with 28 points, followed by Rochester with 51 and Ithaca with 80. Nazareth finished with 195.
Bradley covered the 5-kilometer course in 20:25.51 to pace the Golden Flyers in 34th place individually. Senior
Caitlyn Parmelee was close behind in 37th place (20:29.81).
Other top Nazareth finishers were freshman
Kelsey Ryan in 45th place (20:43.71); freshman
Kelsey Mash in 48th place (20:45.63); junior
Samantha Hickok in 52nd place ((20:49.99); sophomore
Michelle Gillette in 53rd place (20:51.19); and junior
Sarah Wilcox in 61st place (21:12.66).
In the men's race, Morales posted a time of 27:12.07 for 8 kilometers. Sophomore
Peter Fekete was Nazareth's next finisher in 37th place ((27:50.52). Other top finishers were freshman
John Longo in 49th place (28:29.61); sophomore
Tim Rutan in 64th place (29:15.61); freshman
Anthony Romeo in 66th place (29:21.26); freshman
Josh Strough in 81st place (29:59.52) and sophomore
Nick Spera in 91st place (31:07.93).
