ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nazareth's fall women's tennis season winds toward its conclusion this weekend as the Golden Flyers will be one of 14 teams competing at the New York State Tournament at Cornell.

Seniors Jackeline Martinez and Elizabeth Way, juniors Kelly Noble and Sherrita Wilkins, sophomore Abby Goings and freshman Alexandra Vizgaitis will be competing in singles competition starting Friday. Martinez and Way will play at first doubles; Noble and Vizgaitis at second doubles and Wilkins and freshman Christine Cary at third doubles.

ROCHESTER, NY - Ithaca defeated Nazareth, 9-0, Saturday in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for women's tennis. Ithaca, five-time defending conference champion, improved to 9-0 overall, while Nazareth completed its fall season at 5-6 overall.

UTICA, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth had little difficulty Sunday in evening its overall record at 5-5 in women's tennis as the Golden Flyers downed Utica, 9-0. At 5-3 in Empire 8 Conference matches, the Golden Flyers clinched a berth in the conference tournament later this month.
