MENDON, N.Y. -- Freshman Christine Cary rallied for a three-set victory at sixth singles for Nazareth Thursday to help the Golden Flyers to a 6-3 women's tennis victory over St. John Fisher in an Empire 8 Conference match at Mendon Racquet Club.

After dropping the first set to Fisher's Jordan Brungard, Cary trailed in the second set 2-5 before rallying to win 7-5, 6-0. Senior Jackeline Martinez also won a three-set match at first singles 7-6, 4-6, 6-1. Senior Elizabeth Way and junior Kelly Noble also won singles matches for the Golden Flyers, who improved to 4-1 in conference matches and 4-3 overall.

In doubles, Nazareth earned points at #2 and #3. Freshman Alexandra Vizgaitis and Noble combined for a win at second doubles. Cary and junior Sherrita Wilkins won at third doubles.

Nazareth hosts RIT Saturday at 1 p.m.
