ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Kelly Finn scored the game's only goal in the second half and junior goalie Polly Muehlenkamp made nine saves in her first career start as Nazareth defeated visiting Allegheny in women's soccer, 1-0.

The game was part of the Nazareth Tournament played at Golden Flyer Stadium and evened the Golden Flyers' overall record at 2-2. Allegheny slipped to 0-3-1. Denison defeated William Smith in Sunday's first game, 2-0.

After a scoreless first half, Finn gathered a loose ball just inside the Allegheny box in the 52nd minute and drilled a shot into the lower right corner, past Allegheny goalkeeper Emily Karr. It was Finn's second goal of the season and 22nd of her career.

Allegheny had a great chance to tie the score with a little more than 10 minutes remaining. A shot by Rebekah Zeffiro was saved by Muehlenkamp; the rebound wound up on the foot of Katie Murphy, whose point-blank shot was headed out of the goal by Nazareth's Rachel Cushman.

Allegheny had a 20-15 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Karr finished with 10 saves for the Gators.

Nazareth returns to action Thursday for a non-conference game at Geneseo at 4 p.m. The Golden Flyers also are home Saturday against Brockport at 1 p.m.
